Byford Secondary College
Byford Secondary College opened its doors on the 3rd February 2014 for its inaugural students.
My ambition is to create a vibrant and successful secondary school in the heart of Byford with a culture of success and providing comprehensive curriculum for its students.
As an accomplished secondary school principal with over 25 years in public education Western Australia, I have a clear vision and aspiration for leading this new school.
A highlight of my career to date was leading Belmont City College in 2010 as one of the first eight secondary schools in the inaugural Independent Public Schools initiative. In 2009, I was selected to be one of 80 principals nationally to attend the Leading Australian Schools program through Melbourne University. I have held leadership positions in both metropolitan and country schools including Belmont City College, Karratha Senior High School and Governor Stirling Senior High School.
Our facilities are state of the art with the College boasting a full complement of science laboratories, general classrooms and specialist rooms in metal work, wood work and home economics.
These facilities are fully equipped with the latest in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to enhance the learning experience of our students. All our ovals and landscaping across the full 13 hectare site of our College were completed for the commencement of the 2014 school year. This means that our students have access to arguably the best sporting facilities available to the Byford community.
To create a vibrant and dynamic secondary school in the heart of Byford which provides for the needs and aspirations of all students within our community.
Our vision is to create a vibrant and successful secondary school in the heart of Byford with a culture of success and providing comprehensive curriculum for its students. We are dedicated to providing our students with an exceptional secondary education, reflecting the aspirations of Byford and the surrounding communities. We will also become the hub of secondary education for students with disabilities when, in 2017, our education support facilities are operational.
Aspire to Excellence, articulates our vision of providing a secondary school of choice for the local community that provides a comprehensive suite of subjects from Year 7 through to Year 12 (from 2018), which will provide for the educational aspirations of all our students.
